Me too. I remember it distinctly. The radio was in a different place then, but I still sit in my kitchen hoping for something as life changing as hearing that drum intro give way to the guitar rif, and the step-up when the bass kicked in. When the Dylanesque (subterranean homesick blues) came along I was enthralled. And what a chorus! Play it again, play it again, play it again.

Thanks for the ride, it's been great. Countless gigs and cities/countries visited; countless new (and very sincere) friends from all around the world; countless CDs & pieces of merch; countless nights sat in the kitchen laughing my tits off at all the antics on here; and countless years in the future with someone special thanks to you.
I couldn't have had a better four years without y'all.

Sorry Raf, I only wander through here every week or so - was going to be tomorrow, but thanks for the heads-up over on FB. And don't worry Leah, there'll still be a chance. If Roger Daltry and the guys can do it, so can Jon, Barry & Mince. Now there's a challenge!

Cheers guys (sniff).

That post was actually so emotional! Havent been on here in ages and when i do come on i see this :(

I have to echo a lot of what Steve has said. I have met so many wonderful people through this band, Steve included and the band included, and will always be grateful. Some of the very best days of my life included traveling around both the US and the UK to see The Fratellis (or not see them as it turned out in the US in 2008).

I'm not giving up, though. In fact I'll be there in May to see Codeine Velvet Club and a number of friends, and will be watching what comes along. And certainly hope to continue to see the people I've met and that I love both here and abroad for the rest of my life - volcanoes permitting, of course. The best to everyone, and let's please stay in touch!
Love you all - Mary

we did have quite a good hug after the last London gig!

The adventures for gigs have been awesome. Flew back from california and got a tube from heathrow to Pick up two wristbands from a stranger on here (thankyou again!), which ended up with me actually shopping with the band (bought a few things I didn't need to justify my presence!!)

Granted it does sound pretty ominous, but we are still reading between the lines somewhat! Let's just wait and see eh!

How about we turn this into a "best fratelli memories" thread?

Who said internet dating was for peados and weirdos? Beats paying eHarmony or Match.com :)

Liking Mince's new band's sound too. Oh that reminds me, time to put my new Black Mountain CDs onto my phone.

The Fratellis are special, not in a retard 'speshual' way, but they're special to me. And the wife ;)

It's been quite a journey so far, and I wish you all well in in what follows, musically and otherwise.

The Fratellis brought a whole new aspect to my life, one I'll never forget. The band and music itself was immense, but the people on this forum stand out almost as much. This site grew a sense of community I'd never experienced on the net, and that's down to the band, the fabulous TF, and all of us.

Thanks for the good times and the music!

Stay happy!

Mon Yous, Mon Us, But No Them!

'Mon the Fratellis!!

The Sex Pistols split after 1 album. Didnt do their legacy any harm.

Theres lots of bands that unofficially finish after just one single album. Why go on just for the fans which is what a lot of bands do. Bands dont start because of this. Becomes tedious and boring to be honest, from an outsider looking in. Bands start up, as the chemistry is there to begin with, the spark is there, they enjoy playing with each other, something clicks. I guess they just need time to recoup the chemistry, love for each other and find that buzz that first got them together. When this is re-ignited, I think we will have a new tour and album.

In time people grow up, people move on, priorities change. The world moves on.

Amazing band. Immensley talented. Best songwriter of the last 10 years.

Does anyone find it odd that Baz and Jon's posts were posted at exactly the same time? :-/

Actually, it did cross my mind that they'd posted on the same evening - I didn't notice that it was at exactly the same time though!

Thank you guys for all you've done, it's amazing how 3 guys could affect such positive change in so many lives, while bringing together so many amazing people. You've helped to "save" my musical soul, stoking embers in a fire that I thought burned out a long time ago. So many incredible new friends on this wild ride, along with that one special someone to share the journey, thanks to you guys.

But I’ll help you any way I can

Firewater for a reunion, first round is on me.
