Hello All

i hope everyone is well. We really do appreciate the support and enthusiasm that you guys show to this band, as that's the case we want to keep you up to date with our plans. We have no plans to work together right now. Sometimes things just work out that way. Mince, Baz and I are working on music but not with each other for a while. Your passion is appreciated more than we will ever be able to say, we'll forever give our hearts and souls to music and to you guys who want to hear what we do.

Mon Yous Mon us But not them

Jon

Hi Jon, really appreciate your post. I and many other Fratelli and Codeine fans know that you guys make music because you love the music. No matter what you guys do, I know that it will be with passion and integrity and for that you have my eternal love and respect. Mon the future x

I hope this doesn't mean it's the end.

To let you know, it was The Fratellis that made me a music fan. Sure, everyone's got their Oasis's and Beatles, and not that I'm comparing The Fratellis to them, but you were completely different.
First time I heard Creepin', I knew it was something special, something different.

I absolutely love the style of music of the Fratellis. And the complete diversity of each track. No two of your songs are alike.

If it weren't for The Fratellis, I probably wouldn't be listening to half the bands I'm into these days.
Admittedly, I don't listen to you now every day, or even every week, but there's still a massive place in my heart for your music that I love so much.

I really hope to get a Ticketmaster email in the next few years with "The Fratellis" in the header of it, and all of us on here will be there like a fucking shot!
See you then!

MTF
x

Domo you just hit the nail on the head.

The fratellis just appeal to me. I know nothing about music really. All these myspace bands, the whole reading festival lineup etc, it just means nothing to me.

I sound like a stuck record, but this band just have something that others dont, a certain uniqueness thats pretty hard to find in such a crowded market. I just love the whole experience, the fan friendliness, the band interaction (Jon and baz, youve got this spot on. there is nothing better for a fan to at least feel like theyve been thought about!) and overall the great music.

Im just gutted i found out about it all so late through a WH Smith advert after the release of costello music; i missed out on all the "getting the name out there" fun!

i fucking love codeine velvet club, and its fun following a band from its infancy, but theres always something that draws you to your first love eh?

keep the faith! the fratellis aren't a myth yet.

I have to echo and agree .

Miss the fratellis magic, the pure energy at every gig and waiting for every new song to appear.

Loving Codeine velvet club, a new kind of magic, and can't stop jiving to the music!

The Fratellis meant a turning point in my life when I first heard the wonderful music and met all you lovely people.

Sometimes we just go in different directions, don't we?

Good luck to everyone! x

I'm noticing the lack of posts from many of this forum's "heavy weights" and oldest (time here, not age) and most active members. I wonder why?

I filled up when I read this! Hormones.
I adore The Fratellis and I know I always will.
I hope that one day we get more, but if not, then at least we've got plenty to be grateful for.
Thanks.

Although I'm sad to hear this and will miss the Fratellis, I'm glad you're moving on to new things if that's what you want to do. Nothing lasts forever, people grow apart. You guys changed my life in so many ways and I just want to thank you for the wonderful music, memories, and everything else you've given us. I'm so disappointed I never got to see you live, though. Keeping my fingers crossed for some day!
I wish you the best of luck in your new ventures- do whatever makes you happy!

Me too. I remember it distinctly. The radio was in a different place then, but I still sit in my kitchen hoping for something as life changing as hearing that drum intro give way to the guitar rif, and the step-up when the bass kicked in. When the Dylanesque (subterranean homesick blues) came along I was enthralled. And what a chorus! Play it again, play it again, play it again.

Thanks for the ride, it's been great. Countless gigs and cities/countries visited; countless new (and very sincere) friends from all around the world; countless CDs & pieces of merch; countless nights sat in the kitchen laughing my tits off at all the antics on here; and countless years in the future with someone special thanks to you.
I couldn't have had a better four years without y'all.

Sorry Raf, I only wander through here every week or so - was going to be tomorrow, but thanks for the heads-up over on FB. And don't worry Leah, there'll still be a chance. If Roger Daltry and the guys can do it, so can Jon, Barry & Mince. Now there's a challenge!

Cheers guys (sniff).

No need to say sorry Steve. I hope through all this utter bullshit we'll remain friends. I love this band (the members in it, the crew and the staff) like family and I better go before I say what I'm really thinking.

American Idiot signing off...
